''Minecraft'' includes an in-game '''server list''' for [[multiplayer]] in which users can save the servers they visit.

{{IN|je}}, there is no pre-populated server list directly available from in-game itself or on [http://www.minecraft.net/ the official ''Minecraft'' website], but the stand-alone ''Java Edition'' [[launcher]] does support adding servers in the Multiplayer section. It allows players to see if a server is online, how many slots it has, and how good the player's connection (ping time) to the server is. Hovering over the connection status icon in ''Minecraft's'' server list tells the player the connection speed to the server.

When first loading up the multiplayer list, the [[player]] receives a warning regarding [[:en:File:Multiplayer_disclaimer.png|online play not being rated.]] If the player wishes not to see this again, there is a 'Do not show this screen again' checkbox. 

{{IN|be}}, the server list has a section for [[featured servers]] that have partnered with [[Mojang Studios]]. In the console versions, these are the only servers available, as there is no option to add unofficial servers.

== Finding unofficial servers ==
Several websites provide a place for server owners to publicly advertise their servers, listing IP addresses and other information about these servers. There were two sites of note (both defunct): the official Classic server list maintained by [[Mojang Studios]] and the [http://minecraftforum.net/servers public server list] at the [[Minecraft Forums]]. Since Minecraft Forums has shut down their public server list as of June 27th 2018 the only alternative to find Minecraft Servers to play on ''Java Edition'' is through a public server list found online. There are many popular server lists that mirror how Minecraft Forums system worked when it was live.

== Finding EULA compliant servers ==
As of June 7th, 2023 there is an [http://aka.ms/verifiedservers official server listing site for ''Minecraft'' servers].  In collaboration between GamerSafer and Mojang Studios, this ad-free site is available to find MUG and EULA compliant ''Minecraft'' servers.

Servers listed on this site are required to be EULA and MUG compliant and have all been vetted by both GamerSafer and the Mojang Enforcement Team. The site uses badges for ''Minecraft'' servers to earn and communicate with players and parents the additional safety features that they provide. The ''Minecraft'' Usage Guidelines (MUG) can be found [https://aka.ms/MCUsageGuidelines here].

== Organizing servers ==
In ''Java Edition'', the servers appear on the list in a set order, which can be changed. To change the order the servers appear on the list, the player can hover over the server they like to move and use the arrows to move the server up or down on the list. Alternatively, the player can hold {{key|Shift}} and use the arrow keys.

In Bedrock Edition, the servers are always in order.
